Madison Trice

Madison Trice is an actress and activist who graduated from Harvard with a degree in Government and a secondary concentration in Theatre, Dance, and Media. While an undergraduate at Harvard, she became connected with the NAACP LDF, discussing the experience of black students on campus. She then volunteered to testify in the Harvard vs. SFFA trial as a member of the amici in favor of holistic admissions on behalf of the LDF, Harvard Black Students Association, and the Association of Black Harvard Women (ABHW). In her capacity as a member of the amici and as ABHW’s political action chair, she testified before the Massachusetts Supreme Court about the importance of affirmative action, knowing that this work was critical to ensure the representation and futures of a diverse cohort of students. She also was published in Refinery29 and interviewed by the Washington Post and CNN on the subject.

Much of her testimony contrasted the experience of being a part of a diverse environment such as Harvard with her experience of attending a wealthy, predominantly white high school in Texas where she faced significant racism and bullying. This short film delves deeper into that experience, and through it, she hopes to build empathy for the often underrepresented stories of students who shared those experiences.  She looks forward to playing the character of Ayala, and is excited to use what she’s learned as an actress with Harvard’s BlackCAST to bring the character to life.
